ISO/TC38/SC23/WG05 (International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Textiles) led by China fibre And the Natural Protein Working Group of the Yarn Branch). Experts from Switzerland, Italy, India, Japan, China and relevant international organizations attended the meeting. It is reported that this is the first time to hold and discuss the formulation of international textile standards led by China. Its convening has accelerated the strategic pace of "internationalization of silk standards and localization of international standards", further established the leading position of Chinese silk in the international silk industry, better safeguarded the economic and technological interests of China's silk industry and its image and position in the international silk industry, and played a leading and active role in promoting China's international textile standardization, It has laid a solid foundation for China to move from a "big silk country" to a "strong silk country".

According to the Secretary General of China Silk Association Silk standard Qian Youqing, director of the Chemical Technology Committee, introduced that the research on electronic detection of raw silk in China began in the 1980s, but in the past 20 years, it has basically remained in theoretical discussion. In recent years, with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and the State Administration of Quality Supervision, the relevant research units in China have developed the "photoelectric+capacitor" combination Raw silk electron Testing equipment, conducted research on electronic testing methods of raw silk, formulated the Standard for Electronic Testing Methods of Raw Silk (Draft), and conducted many technical communications and exchanges with major raw silk producing and consuming countries, initially reaching a consensus on the technical route of electronic testing of raw silk. In order to speed up the pace of internationalization of electronic testing standards for raw silk, the National Technical Committee for Silk Standardization formally proposed the proposal and standard draft for the development of the international standard Regulations and Test Methods for Electronic Testing and Grading of Raw Silk to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in September 2009, which was accepted by ISO.

As of January 14 this year, the proposal has been voted by relevant ISO organizations online for three months and passed by a high number of votes. In addition to China, experts from Japan, South Korea, India, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany and Kenya also participated in the research work. On May 10 this year, it was registered by the ISO Central Secretariat, marking the official launch of the first international standard formulation work for China's silk industry. The project lasted three years.

It is reported that this meeting is hosted by relevant ISO organizations and undertaken by the National Standardization Administration. China Silk Association, National Silk Standardization Technical Committee, Zhejiang Entry Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and Zhejiang Kaixiya International Co., Ltd.
