Suzhou'S Textile And Clothing Exports Still Maintain Rapid Growth Momentum.
This year, Suzhou's textile and clothing exports still maintain a rapid growth momentum.
According to Suzhou customs statistics, exports in the first half of the year amounted to 2 billion 380 million US dollars, an increase of 21.1%, and the price increased by 12.4% over the same period last year.
Textile and clothing are the traditional export products of Suzhou, accounting for 4.2% of the country's clothing exports.
Since this year, nearly 60% of the garments in the city have been sold to various parts of the world through foreign trade companies. Among them, Hengrun import and export company has become a large garment exporter in the city with the performance of more than 100 million dollars.
In several major export markets, although the US is affected by the subprime crisis, it has little impact on the clothing trade.
In the first half of the year, the EU market exported $630 million, due to the cancellation of quotas, which increased by 53%.
The EU has become a key trading partner of textile and clothing exports in Suzhou.
