ZARA Beijing Consumer Association Brand

Beijing Consumer Association : ZARA ignores consumers "tracking

The Beijing Consumer Association criticized the Spanish brand ZARA products that were found unqualified three times but ignored consumers, ZARA The public relations and communication department of INDITEX Group where I work issued a statement yesterday, saying that ZARA clothing "meets the highest level of clothing standards". People from Beijing Consumer Association believe that the statement "avoids the heavy and takes the light".

Yesterday, INDITEX Group said that, ZARA clothing It complies with all relevant Chinese health and safety regulations, and all chemical tests show that it is qualified.

For the test of color fastness, it is stated that ZARA clothing "meets the highest level clothing standard in many test categories", and only two items fail to meet the highest standard, but still meet the quality of standard products.

As for the discrepancy between the product label and the actual composition information of the product, the statement explained that this was because the acrylic acid and fiber glue components were not marked on the product label. According to the relevant rules and regulations of China, these fiber components need to be marked with "other fibers". ZARA Quality Monitoring Department is making corrections to this.

This statement only explained the inspection of casual pants in April, but did not mention the down jacket problems in 2009 and 2010. At the same time, it is only considered that the ZARA label is inappropriate, but the cotton content marked on the fiber content of casual pants is 75%, and the actual measurement is 68.2%; The nominal wool content is 20%, and the measured wool content is only 10.6%. These substantive issues are not explained.

The statement stressed that ZARA's clothing "will not pose any health or safety threat to customers". However, the statement did not mention how to deal with the problem products, how to return or replace the products, nor did it apologize.

Xu Xueqing, Director of Public Relations and Communication of INDITEX Group in China, said that ZARA would respect the rights of domestic consumers. She had sent three test reports back to the headquarters in Spain, which would give a unified explanation after reading the test reports.

Consumer Association: ZARA should give a clear attitude

Luo Gang, director of the consumption guidance department of the Beijing Consumer Association, said that the consumer association recognized ZARA's attitude this time, but did not recognize the contents of this statement. Many of the contents were "avoiding the heavy and taking the light", and did not talk about the substantive issues of consumer rights. Therefore, they asked the other party to make a new statement, send a formal letter to the Consumer Association, and give a clear attitude to the handling of products.

According to the municipal consumer association, the comparative test of casual pants is entrusted to the National Garment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Tianjin) to test 13 indexes of the sample, including fiber content, color fastness to water, color fastness to perspiration, color fastness to dry rubbing, color fastness to wet rubbing, color fastness to dry cleaning, and color fastness to light.
