China Rubber Industry Association Shandong Raw Material

In November 17th, Shandong It's rainy and cold in Ji'nan. Held here China Rubber Industry Association On the sixteen member congress of the waste rubber comprehensive utilization branch, the experts held a heated discussion around the revision of the 2008 edition of the national standard of reclaimed rubber. Experts from enterprises, associations and research institutes agreed that the revised standard is very necessary, and proposed to speed up the elimination of coal tar softeners, increase the detection of harmful substances such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Cao Qingxin, Secretary General of the waste rubber comprehensive utilization branch of the China Rubber Industry Association, told reporters that in October this year, the European tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association announced the results of the second batch inspection of the PAHs in the EU market. A total of 10 tyres of 9 brands were found to exceed the limit, of which 9 were produced in China. In the first batch of results, 12 of the unqualified tires were produced in China. Recently, the European tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association once again urged the EU and its member states to increase the supervision and enforcement of the restrictions on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in tyres. This makes the situation of Chinese tire exports to the EU become more and more serious.

Therefore, as a raw material of rubber products such as tires, the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the reclaimed rubber industry is affecting the industry nerve, and has also promoted the start of the national standard revision program.

Experts said that the price of natural rubber and synthetic rubber materials increased in recent years, making rubber products. industry The proportion of reclaimed rubber is increasing. At the same time, due to the increasingly stringent requirements for rubber products at home and abroad, the development of environmentally-friendly recycled rubber is imperative. The elimination of coal tar softeners is a real problem that the reclaimed rubber industry has to face. The revision of the GB is centered on the environmental problems existing in the reclaimed rubber production process using coal tar, and may increase the detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and other harmful substances.

Reporters learned that, according to the detection of regenerated rubber produced by coal tar as softener, its polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHS) amount to 18 as high as 8876.8 mg / kg, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (8) as high as 638.1 mg / kg, far exceeding the relevant laws and regulations of developed countries such as Europe and the United States, belonging to toxic and harmful reclaimed rubber. Rubber products containing this reclaimed rubber are difficult to pass in export inspection. The content of reclaimed rubber polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PPAHs) from pine tar, Gleditsia oil and rapeseed oil was 31.2 mg / kg, and PAHs content (8 items) was about 32 mg / kg, which accords with the environmental protection test standards of 18 countries.

Here, experts have expressed their opinions around the target limits in revising the GB and increasing the detection of harmful substances such as PAHs. Zhang Xiao, general manager of Shanghai Xiaoyou Rubber Co., Ltd. and Xiao Pingzhong, general manager of Jiangxi state Yan high tech Mstar Technology Ltd, believe that the use of coal tar produced in the process of production and reuse of recycled rubber, there are a large number of toxic substances emitted into the atmosphere. Therefore, in the newly revised GB, environmental indicators should be matched with the level of European and American countries, and the use of coal tar should be stopped. {page_break}

Some members of the expert group also suggested that since the production of reclaimed rubber has been in the history of many years in China, although many production processes have undergone many reforms, the softeners used by most of the regenerated rubber enterprises in China have not been removed from the coal tar. Therefore, a transition time for the reclaimed rubber production enterprises should be gradually eliminated to meet the requirements of environmental protection.

Using coal tar as softener can make recycled rubber have better elongation and strength. If it is replaced by a series of plants, will this kind of physical property index be lowered, and whether the physical properties of recycled rubber should be reduced in the national standard? And because of the increased cost, whether the downstream products industry can accept it should be seriously considered. " Some experts said without fear.

"Although the price of bio and plant softeners is higher than the price of coal tar, although the production cost of environment-friendly recycled rubber is higher than the cost of pollution type reclaimed rubber, under the pressure of environmental protection at home and abroad, the elimination of coal tar is the need for long-term development of enterprises and the need for industrial upgrading, which is the trend of the times." Cao Qingxin said.

Dong Min, deputy director of the Tianjin Rubber Industry Research Institute, told reporters that under the pressure of environmental protection, the recovery of coal tar from the production of reclaimed rubber is an inevitable trend. It is suggested that all enterprises should pay attention to adjusting the use plan of coal tar softeners, and seek to replace the types and resources of softeners. Cao Qingxin also expressed the hope that the revised GB will play the role of mandatory standards and enhance the industrial threshold.

It is understood that, as China's rubber industry reclaimed rubber technology import unit, Tianjin Rubber Industry Research Institute will lead the revision of the national standard. Recently, the representatives of regenerated rubber production enterprises and downstream products enterprises will discuss and draft the 2008 edition of the GB.
