China'S Footwear Exports To Argentina Increased In 2007

The footwear industry association of Argentina released the latest statistics in January 16th. In 2007, Argentina imported 29 million pairs of footwear products, amounting to 315 million US dollars, an increase of 34% compared with 2006.

Brazil and China still export the most footwear products to Argentina.

Statistics show that Argentina shoe manufacturers last year produced 90 million pairs of footwear products, an increase of 9.4% over 2006, but still unable to meet domestic demand.

Last year, sales of footwear products in the country reached 120 million double, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year.

Last year, Brazil's exports of footwear to Argentina accounted for 63% of the total imports of footwear products in Argentina, and China accounted for 26%.

But from the perspective of growth, China's footwear exports to Argentina increased by 49% over the past year, and Brazil's growth rate was 15% in 2006.
