CEN recently passed the latest personal protective equipment, safety footwear standard ENISO20345:2011, which will take effect in June 2012 and replace the old version of ENISO20345:2004/A1:2007.

Safety shoes structure
The standard is jointly formulated by the technical committee CEN/TC161 "foot and leg protector" and the technical committee ISO/TC94 "personal safety - protective clothing and equipment".
According to CEN/CENELEC regulations, the following European countries must implement this standard: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Malta, Malta, Holland, Portugal, Portugal, China, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
This will be a new challenge for the safety footwear enterprises exporting to the above countries.
