　 Pakistan textile industry Invest $1 billion to upgrade plant

The chairman of the Pakistan Textile Association recently held talks with the delegation from Shanghai, China. The Pakistan textile industry plans to invest 1 billion US dollars for the renewal and replacement of the equipment in the textile mill. In the process of modernizing and upgrading the workshop, Ba textile factory will import various kinds of machinery through various ways. The two sides exchanged views on the growth prospects of Pakistan textile industry and explored the possibility of importing textile machinery from China.

Officials from the all Ba Textile Association said that apart from China, Pakistan also sought to import textile machinery from Europe and Japan. Besides, textile machinery and equipment imported from India are also being considered, because the relative price of India products is lower. The Chinese delegation said that it would ensure the quality of export textile machinery and look forward to further cooperation between Pakistan and invited members of the Ba Textile Association to participate in the international textile machinery professional exhibition held in Shanghai.

　　 India supports the mainland Silk industry Developing raw silk import tariffs to 15%

Secretary General of the India Central Silk Committee (CSB) Roy said recently that the India government and CSB are adopting various supporting measures, such as strengthening subsidies to sericultural farmers and protecting the interests of reeling practitioners, so as to reduce domestic raw silk imports. The budget of the central government of India has announced that the import tariff of raw silk will be raised from 5% to 15% in 2013 to protect domestic sericulture and silk reeling industry.

Roy pointed out that India has been steadily reducing its dependence on imports of raw silk from China, which imported about 10000 tons of raw silk from China 5 years ago. At present, it has been reduced to 5700 tons. "We hope to reduce the import of raw silk to zero by 2022."

In 2011~2012, the total export volume of India silk textiles was 252 billion 300 million rupees. Exports fell sharply in the first 9 months of this fiscal year, mainly due to the depressed us and European markets. Exporters began to seek diversified market development. North Africa, UAE and South Africa became emerging markets. In the past two months, the volume of silk exports began to pick up.

Pakistan Textile export The textile industry in Pakistan has lost 300 billion rupees in the past 4 years, mainly due to the shortage of electricity and natural gas, the PTEA said recently.

During the above period, cotton production in Pakistan has reached a record high, but the energy crisis has led to Pakistan's textile industry unable to make use of cotton. Constrained by this, the Pakistan textile mill failed to deliver in time, resulting in the closure of a large number of factories, and some of the textile mills moved to Bangladesh, Turkey and Sri Lanka.
