Jiang Wenruo, the deputy director of the International Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, said in Taipei on the 14th that, according to the Cross Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, 539 Taiwan products exported to the mainland will be tariff free from January 1, 2013, including 137 spin Products. In the first half of this year, Taiwan's textile exports to the mainland amounted to US $860 million, the same as those to Southeast Asia.

Jiang Wenruo disclosed the above information at the press conference of 2013 "Taipei Textile Exhibition" and "Taipei Glamour Exhibition" held on the same day.

The 17th "Taipei Textile Exhibition" and the 8th "Taipei Charm Exhibition" will be held in Taipei from October 15 to 17. A total of 359 manufacturers participated in the Taipei Textile Exhibition, with 747 booths, the largest scale ever; There are 218 exhibitors, 264 static booths, dynamic shows, fashion shows, professional seminars, etc.

Yang Xiaoqin, director of the exhibition market department of Taiwan textile industry, told China News Service that since the early 1990s, the mainland has become the largest export market for Taiwan products and Taiwan textiles. Entering the 21st century, Taiwan textile industry clothing The industry has gradually moved into the era of production of new composite products, and the exchanges and cooperation between the textile and clothing industries across the Straits have been deepening.

In 2012, Taiwan exported US $11.8 billion of global textiles and clothing, and the mainland market accounted for 35% of Taiwan's annual total exports of textiles and clothing. At present, the mainland market has an important influence on the development of Taiwan's textile industry. Especially with the rise of green, low-carbon high-tech functional fabrics in Taiwan, the high-end functional fabrics used by the mainland textile industry mostly originate from Taiwan.

Yang Xiaoqin believes that in terms of the textile industry, there are still many textiles that have not implemented zero tariffs. He hopes that the two sides will further negotiate to reduce tariffs as soon as possible. Only when the two sides of the Taiwan Straits become a "big market" with no trade barriers to each other, can the textile industry on both sides of the Straits share each other's R&D achievements and latest products in a timely manner. At the same time, through close interaction in many aspects, more textile enterprises will be encouraged to find business opportunities and further accelerate the comprehensive exchange and cooperation of the textile industry across the Straits.
