On February 12th, suning.com chairman Zhang Jindong announced at the Spring Festival rally that suning.com formally acquired all 37 department stores under Wanda Department Store Limited (hereinafter referred to as Wanda Department Store).

However, Suning has not disclosed the specific purchase price.

Suning side said that this is an important drop in Suning 2019 retail layout. The acquisition will provide a new digital pformation for Wanda Department store.

Suning said that Suning has been committed to building a full field smart retail eco system, achieving full coverage from online to offline, from cities to towns, and setting up smart retail scenes that can be seen and touched at any time to meet users' needs at any time, any place and any service.

Insiders pointed out that for Suning, the acquisition of Wanda general store will pform the supply chain from two aspects of digitalization and experience through the output of smart retail CPU capabilities, and strengthen the important mosaic of department stores, and further improve the layout of the whole scene and the whole category.

Wanda Department Store (predecessor "thousand department stores") was founded in 2007. In Wanda Commercial 2015's performance meeting, Qu Dejun, former director and chief executive officer of Wanda Commercial real estate, said Wanda Department store was derived from Wanda Plaza in the early days of Wanda Commercial real estate development.

"Each project seeks to start the operation of shopping centers within 24 months from the acquisition of land, and complete the delivery of sales property within 36 months". Wang Guoping, a member of the senior advisory group, believes that Suning is the shareholder of Wanda from shareholders' perspective.
