Shenzhen Layout High-End Events To Boost Development Of Bay Area Sports Industry

The sports industry has become a new outlet, with more than 40 sports industry investment funds set up mainly by social capital, with a total scale of more than 100 billion yuan.

It is reported that the total scale of the sports industry increased from 35.262 billion yuan in 2014 to 70.219 billion yuan in 2017, accounting for 1.2% of the city's GDP, with an average annual growth rate of 25.8%.

On December 6, 2018, at the sports industry development forum of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Zhang Heyun, director of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of culture, culture and tourism, told reporters of the 21st century economic report that cooperation among all parties can also be strengthened in the introduction of high-end events and the expansion of sports consumption. Each year, 30 major international and domestic events are held in Shenzhen, and more than 100 professional leagues are held, attracting more than 2 million spectators to watch.

High end events have greatly promoted the development of sports consumption and sports industry. According to the statistical analysis of the sports consumption of Shenzhen residents, in 2017, the per capita sports consumption of Shenzhen residents was 2568.54 yuan, about 380 US dollars. The sports consumption has reached the level of developed countries in Europe and America, and is in the leading position in the country. From the perspective of Dawan district urban agglomerations, the market is broader. Shenzhen will also vigorously promote the joint application and joint hosting of competitions, and introduce and host more international high-end events of higher specifications.

In addition, vice president Li Quanhai of the world Sailing Federation told reporters that China's high-level sailing events have made great progress, taking high-level sailing events as an example. Especially the "China Cup" held in Shenzhen for 12 consecutive years has become one of the most famous events in the world. "Dawan district is the place where yachts and masts are most concentrated," Li Quanhai believes that in the construction of Dawan District, sailboats are a concentrated embodiment of manufacturing, sales, maintenance, consumption, culture and urban progress. The coastline of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area is 3201km, which is an inevitable condition for the development of sailing sport and the superior natural conditions of Dawan district.
