Textile Exports Will Not Be Subject To Quota Restrictions Next Year.

According to the 242nd paragraph of the report of the working group on China's accession to the WTO, the textile special measures will expire at the end of 2008.

Since January 1, 2009, China's textile exports will no longer be subject to quotas, and the bilateral memorandum of understanding on textiles between China, the United States and China will end at the same time.

The responsible person of the Ministry of foreign trade of the Ministry of Commerce said recently that some developed countries were ready to implement anti-dumping and countervailing trade relief measures for my textiles.

Under the current circumstances, the Ministry of Commerce will further strengthen dialogue and communication with the countries concerned to ensure a smooth pition and create a favorable external environment for China's textile exports.

At present, the unstable factors in the international economic environment are increasing obviously. Our textile exports are facing some new situations and new problems.

The responsible person said that the relevant industry and trade associations should give full play to the role of bridges and ties, actively carry out coordination work such as self-discipline and reciprocal law, take the initiative to maintain export order and safeguard the stable and sustainable development of China's textile exports. The vast majority of textile exporting enterprises should actively change their ideas and adapt to the new situation as soon as possible, and arrange the export plan in an orderly manner in 2009 so as to avoid blind expansion of production capacity.
